Abstract

This research is motivated by the low problem-solving ability of children, which is marked by the lack of skill of children in arranging puzzle pieces until they become a complete picture. This study aims to improve children's problem solving skills through puzzle-building activities in children RA FADNUR AISYAH. This research is a classroom action research using the Kemmis and Mc.Taggart model which is carried out in two cycles. The research subjects were the children of RA FADNUR AISYAH Choice, totaling 15 children, consisting of 7 girls and 8 boys. The object of this research is the problem solving ability of children. In the first cycle, the criteria for Developing as expected showed an increase of 46%, while in the second cycle it increased even more than the previous condition in the first cycle reaching 87% or as many as 13 children. Thus the problem-solving ability of children can be improved through the activity of compiling puzzles.
